IWU National & Global Dean Publishes Two Books

Jenny McGillBy September 4th, Jenny McGill, Ph.D., regional dean for IWU National & Global’s northern Indiana and Illinois region, will be able to say she has published two books in one month.

Walk With Me: Learning to Love and Follow Jesus,” is presented as a series of letters to help readers develop their relationship with Jesus. The book, which was released on Aug. 6, summarizes four areas in following Christ, including the beliefs of a Christian, living like a Christian, habits of a Christian and exploring the Bible.

“‘Walk With Me’ is not only useful in helping you grow in your understanding and practice of the Christian faith, but is shaped to allow one-on-one conversations and community to form around the essentials of Christianity,” according to a statement by GCD, the publisher.

In her second book, “The Self Examined — Christian Perspectives on Human Identity,” which will be released on Sept. 4, McGill answers the question, “Does our identity come from God?” She further addresses theological discussions of identity as it relates to contemporary cultural themes, such as ethnicity and gender. According to the book’s description, “‘The Self Examined — Christian Perspectives on Human Identity,’ is an accessible guide to this wide-ranging and important issue.”

“I am thrilled at the opportunity to be a part of these important conversations and to bring my research, education, and experience to bear,” said McGill. “My hope is that each book is efficacious in its own way, the first to describe the process and practice of Christian spiritual formation and the second to discuss identity from a multicultural and interdisciplinary point of view.”

In addition to her work as a dean at IWU-National & Global’s Merrillville Education Center, McGill is a ministry leader and also the wife of a minister. In 2015, she was the winner in the Education category for Up and Coming Woman of the Year at the Influential Women of Northwest Indiana awards banquet.
