Ozinga Opens State-of-the-Art South Bend Office

Ozinga announced the official opening of its new office on Ireland Road in South Bend, IN. This state-of-the-art office building represents a good central location for the company’s expansion across northern Indiana.

Ozinga partnered with Majority Builders to help bring this project to fruition. Sustainability was a focus for this new building, which includes automatic on/off lighting, radiant floor heat, and energy-efficient LED lights throughout the interior and exterior of the building. The entire building is also backed by a generator, so the company can continue operations even if the power goes out.

Inside, the office holds an industrial look, with concrete floors, open ceilings, and glass panel walls. The new dispatch area is spacious and provides Ozinga workers with easy access to the day’s loads through video boards. In addition, new fiber-optic capabilities allow dispatch to improve communication and operations with drivers and customers.

Dispatch, billing, sales and management for the region are now centrally located to help the 89-year-old company streamline processes and improve development throughout the area.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at the South Bend location, with many employees, customers, vendors, and local government officials in attendance. Justin Ozinga, co-owner and president of the company’s ready mix operations, kicked off the event by discussing the family’s history and the company’s excitement to be expanding across Indiana.

Joe Sanders, executive vice president of Ozinga’s Indiana operations, and Marty Ozinga III, third-generation president and current president of the Ozinga Foundation, also spoke at the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Headquartered in Mokena, IL, Ozinga has been an integral part of Indiana communities since its first Indiana location opened in 1973. Since then, the company has grown significantly throughout the region, helping to generate tax revenue and provide jobs to those in local Indiana communities. Recently, Ozinga acquired two new locations in Elkhart and Goshen through the acquisition of Eagle Ready-Mix.
