Data Center Developer to Present at Chamber Luncheon

One of the key developers of the $40 million Digital Crossroads of America Data Center will be delivering a presentation on the new center at the upcoming Lakeshore Chamber of Commerce luncheon. Tom Dakich, an Indianapolis attorney with Indiana NAP, the organization that’s planning and developing the data center, will be describing to attendees the ways in which the center will be enhancing the economic profile of NWI.

Digital Crossroads will soon be established in Hammond along the Lake Michigan shoreline. Its objective will be to serve a growing demand for businesses and content distribution providers to lease data center space.

The first phase of construction involves an initial $40 million investment to construct a 105,000-square-foot facility on approximately 12 acres of the 77-acre site, which will include a data center and shared-space tech incubator. Ultimately, the project has the potential to grow into a $200 million investment across three buildings and 400,000 square feet of state-of-the-art space in Hammond. The project also includes plans for a greenhouse to serve Purdue University Northwest that will use waste heat from the servers and equipment. Indiana NAP is targeting next July for an opening date.
