Influential Women Association Adds New Committee Chair and Co-Chair

The Northwest Indiana Influential Women Association (NWIIWA) is pleased to announce that appointments have been made for the roles of chair and co-chair of the association’s Educational and Networking Events committee. Wendy Evenson, licensed professional hairstylist and small business owner, has been selected to serve as committee chair. Dragana Kalaba, director of selection with Northwestern Mutual, will serve as co-chair.

The Educational and Networking Events committee is very important to NWIIWA. Its job is to develop and organize educational topics, speakers, presentations, and networking events for members.

Wendy Evenson is a local hairstylist, business owner, and a national color educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems. She is also very active with local community and charitable organizations including St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the local branch of Meals On Wheels, the NWI Greater Food Bank, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the City of Crown Point.

“NWIIWA’s mission of empowering and educating women mirrors my dedication to people in the community,” Evenson said. “By choosing to take on a bigger role and co-chair a committee in NWIIWA I believe that I will be able to make a more tangible impact on the lives of women in the community.”

Dragana Kalaba’s career spans 10 years in the recruiting industry. She works closely with financial advisors and members of the community in identifying local talent to grow Northwestern Mutual. Her office is based in Crown Point.

“NWIIWA is important to me because I want to take part in, learn, and cheer on women and professional development. We hold so many diverse talents and are crucial in growing businesses and helping shape our communities for generations to come,” Kalaba said.
