NWI Steel Leader Joins Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI)

One of Indiana’s leaders in steel has joined a national association aimed at advancing the growth of women in the metal industries. Jocelyn McCray, regional account manager at Burns Harbor-based Steel Cities Steels (SCS), has been named a new membership co-chair with the Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI).

McCray has been with SCS, a metal distribution and service center, for about three years. She began her career with ISG, currently ArcelorMittal, and has over 14 years of experience in the metals industry. She earned a bachelor’s in telecommunications with a minor in Spanish from Ball State University. McCray re-joined AWMI Chicago in 2017 and this is her first time serving as a board member.

“I am very excited to be a part of the association. I have met some wonderful people and really value the relationships I have made. It is a great networking opportunity and I have learned so much, both from educational events and presentations I have attended and from fellow members,” McCray said.

The Association of Women in the Metal Industries (AWMI) is an organization of professionals founded to promote and develop the growth of women in the metal industries. AWMI believes that women in similar industries can benefit themselves and their companies through relationships, education and shared knowledge. Visit www.awmi.org for more details.
