The Construction Advancement Foundation (CAF) recently hosted its Annual Construction and Skilled Trades Day in Lake and Porter counties. The events showcased the apprenticeship opportunities available in the construction industry to the next generation of skilled workers.

Event highlights included:

  • 18 Construction Apprenticeship Training Centers: Students had the opportunity to interact directly with representatives from apprenticeship programs, learning about career pathways in various skilled trades.
  • 2004 Total High School Students: The event welcomed students from 41 regional high schools, offering them hands-on experiences and information about the industry.
  • 158 Out-of-School Youth: The event also provided a valuable platform for young adults to explore new career options.

The event partner was the Center of Workforce Innovations (CWI), which also coordinated student registrations with schools and played a key role in ensuring the event ran smoothly.
