Dennis Schnurbusch, CEO of River Heritage Conservancy announced the hiring of Dillon Miles as the organization’s new Director of Development.
Miles is a fundraising executive with more than a decade of experience leading major gift strategy, managing portfolios of more than 100 donors, and advancing large scale campaigns across higher education, healthcare, and community-based organizations. He has a proven ability to cultivate, solicit, and close significant gifts while building high performing teams and scalable fundraising systems that support sustained growth.
Miles began his career in development at the University of Louisville, advancing through multiple roles and securing significant major and annual gifts, including the establishment of endowed scholarships supporting underrepresented students. He holds a Master of Education in College Student Personnel and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Louisville.
He also served as Director of Development at the University of Louisville, leading fundraising strategies across multiple divisions and securing major and planned gifts. Earlier, as Chief Development Officer at the Louisville Urban League, he oversaw all fundraising operations and expanded support from corporates, foundations, and individual donors.
Most recently, Miles served as Vice President of Client Relations at Thumbprint Consulting, where he led a team of account executives and grant writers and oversaw a diverse client portfolio. He established and standardized account management systems, strengthened client acquisition and retention, and advised nonprofit partners on grant strategy, funder pipeline development, and case development.
