Franciscan Health Lafayette to Build Freestanding Emergency Department in West Lafayette

Posted

Franciscan Health Lafayette announced plans to build a freestanding Emergency Department (ED) in West Lafayette.

The new facility will be located on Franciscan Health’s property at the corner of US 52/231 and Cumberland Ave. A team of nearly 40 full-time co-workers are expected to staff the ED.  Construction is expected to begin later this year and be completed within two years.

“As West Lafayette continues to grow, there’s a greater need for emergency services close to where many people live,” said Terry Wilson, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Western Indiana. “This project is a great chance for us to expand our presence in the Greater Lafayette area. With this new, modern emergency department, we’ll be able to improve access to emergency care in this growing market, making it a valuable extension of our healthcare ministry."

The full-service Emergency Department will offer 24/7 access to high-quality emergency care in a convenient, community-based location. Staffed by board-certified emergency physicians and equipped with advanced imaging such as CT scans, X-rays, and lab services.

The ED will be located just south of the currently under construction Franciscan OrthoIndy Surgery Center that will feature an orthopedic clinic and surgery center as well as provide orthopedic urgent care, physical therapy and imaging services.
