Greg Gibson, President and CEO of Gibson Development, has been named to the 2025 Indiana 250, a distinguished list published by IBJ Media honoring the state’s most influential leaders in business, government, and civic life. Gibson is one of the select few Hoosiers to appear on the list every year since it was first introduced. This fourth consecutive recognition reflects Gibson’s enduring leadership across industries and his long-standing impact on Indiana’s growth.

The Indiana 250, now in its fourth year, highlights leaders who are driving meaningful change and economic impact across Indiana. Gibson’s recognition affirms his decades-long commitment to advancing environmental stewardship, infrastructure, and community development. His work has made a mark not only in Terre Haute but across the nation.

With a portfolio of more than 50 companies operating in waste management, environmental services, and development, Gibson’s impact spans far beyond traditional business success. His approach blends private-sector innovation with public good. He often leads efforts that ignite new opportunities in underserved regions and champions solutions to Indiana’s toughest infrastructure and environmental challenges.

“Leadership means more than directing from the top; it’s about helping others lead,” said Gibson. “I’m proud of the impact our companies have made, but I’m even prouder of the people behind them and the communities we’ve partnered with along the way.”

A Terre Haute native and graduate of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Gibson has spent 40 years building companies from the ground up while remaining deeply rooted in civic service. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from his alma mater in 2017 and continues to mentor the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs.

Gibson’s influence extends beyond business. His passion for sustainable development, bold leadership on economic issues, and his tireless advocacy for Indiana’s communities have made him a respected voice at the table. He is especially influential in moments that require tough conversations and transformative thinking.

“Being included is meaningful because it reflects the work and the people behind it,” said Gibson. “I’ve always believed in building things that last—companies, communities, and opportunities for others. That’s what drives me, and that’s what I’ll keep showing up for.”
