Elevatus Architecture announced that Justin DeFields has officially become a licensed architect. This professional achievement marks a significant milestone in his architectural career and reflects his focus, commitment, and continued contributions to the Elevatus team.
To earn his license, DeFields completed the rigorous six-exam Architect Registration Examination (ARE) in a focused five-month timeframe. His preparation included a disciplined study schedule and a clear sense of purpose, demonstrating the level of drive that continues to shape his work.
“Earning my license is a defining moment in my career,” said DeFields, who joined Elevatus in 2023. “It reflects the time, focus, and discipline it takes to grow in this profession. I’m thankful for the support that helped me reach this point, including my wife, Erin. I’m excited to continue contributing to work that has lasting impact.”
DeFields holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Nebraska, where he specialized in parametric design and virtual reality applications in architecture. Before joining Elevatus, he worked on healthcare, high-density housing, and National Guard projects across Nebraska and Colorado. He brings that diverse experience to his current work, along with a design philosophy centered on efficiency, clarity, and continuous learning.
At Elevatus, DeFields contributes to a wide range of project types, from Justice to Health and Wellness and Education design. His ability to manage projects and approach challenges with thoughtful precision and his steady dedication to professional development make him a valued member of the firm’s architecture team.
“Justin has quickly become a key member of our team. His strong design abilities, attention to detail, and steady leadership have earned him a central role on several significant projects,” said Cory Miller, President of Elevatus. “He approaches every challenge with professionalism and clarity, and clients immediately recognize his commitment and drive. Licensure is an important milestone, and we’re proud to see him achieve it, but we’re even more excited about what’s ahead for Justin.”
As a licensed architect, DeFields looks forward to continuing to support clients and communities through purposeful, well-executed design.
