Expanded access to high-quality orthopedic care is coming to Central Indiana individuals, families, and small businesses seeking an alternative to traditional health insurance. WeShare Health, a nonprofit healthcare sharing organization built to make healthcare simpler, more affordable, and more human, announced a new collaboration with OrthoIndy, a leading orthopedic practice specializing in bone, joint, spine, and muscle care.
Through the collaboration, WeShare Health members across Central Indiana will have access to OrthoIndy’s comprehensive orthopedic services and specialists. The collaboration comes as WeShare Health continues to expand its presence in Indianapolis and serve those looking for an alternative to employer insurance and ACA plans.
For OrthoIndy and other providers considering the WeShare Health network, the partnership is built on three fundamentals: clear member verification, a straightforward billing process, and payment for eligible medical expenses in less than 14 days, faster than most traditional insurers.
WeShare Health is a nonprofit, faith-inspired organization where members contribute monthly to share one another's eligible medical expenses. WeShare Health exists to keep members healthy, and to support them when they're not. According to WeShare Health, members access a national network of more than 1 million physicians at 30 to 60 percent less than comparable traditional insurance. WeShare Health has served more than 100,000 members and shared more than $50 million in medical expenses.
"We started WeShare Health because people deserve legitimate alternatives to traditional health insurance," said Christopher Jin, CEO of WeShare Health. "That same commitment extends to how we work with providers: clear processes, clear communication, and a partner they can count on. OrthoIndy is exactly the kind of relationship we're proud to build, and it's a model we intend to bring to more specialty providers across Indiana."
“We’re proud to take this step into the healthcare sharing space alongside WeShare Health because it creates another way for people in our community to access high-quality, comprehensive orthopedic care,” said Dr. Matthew Lavery, president and CEO of OrthoIndy. “We want patients to have choices that work for them and their families. By working together with WeShare Health, we can help make OrthoIndy’s orthopedic specialists and services accessible to more people across Central Indiana.”
"I've worked with OrthoIndy for years as a direct primary care physician in Indianapolis, and when I joined WeShare Health, OrthoIndy was the first referral partner I reached out to," said Dr. Jake DeWitt, Chief Medical Officer of WeShare Health. "I've seen firsthand the level of care they consistently provide. As WeShare Health expands its presence across Indiana, we're proud to formalize a relationship built on that same trust, giving our members a direct path to some of the best orthopedic care in the state."
