Award-Winning Instructor Joins Legacy Medical Academy Program at Carmel High School

Legacy Medical Academy, a leading provider of healthcare education in Indiana, announced that Toni Watson has joined Legacy and will lead the pre-nursing instruction at Carmel High School. In her role as Pre-Nursing Pathway Instructor, Toni will teach college-level health science courses—including Medical Terminology and Principles of Healthcare—to high school students through Legacy's partnership with Ivy Tech Community College.

Carmel High School offers robust dual-, AP-, and IB-credit courses as part of its rigorous academic offerings. Watson’s integration into the Carmel classroom will provide students with the opportunity to earn dual credit and kickstart their healthcare career in a structured, high-impact environment.

With a Bachelor of Science in Public Health, licensure as a Practical Nurse, and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership, Watson brings a unique blend of academic rigor, hands-on clinical knowledge, and leadership insight to the classroom. Her professional journey spans direct patient care, healthcare administration, and workforce development—ensuring students benefit from both theoretical instruction and real-world application.

Watson was named 2025 Dual Credit Teacher of the Year by Ivy Tech Indianapolis and selected for the 2024 Inclusion, Access, Equity & Diversity (IAED) mentorship program through the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE). These honors reflect her dedication to inclusive, high-impact instruction that transforms student potential into purpose-driven careers.
